Coatings for Sootblower Tubes
Effective Protection Under Extreme Conditions
Sootblower tubes and steam lances are exposed to severe thermal and mechanical loads during operation. As with superheater components, these conditions often result in pronounced material loss. Uncoated parts that are permanently exposed to the flue-gas stream frequently fail to achieve their intended service life and must be replaced prematurely – with corresponding effort and cost.
Tailor-Made Protection Solutions from Häuser & Co GmbH
To counter this premature wear, we offer various metal-based coating systems, precisely matched to your specific application.
Our processes at a glance:
- Plasma spraying
- Arc spraying
- Laser cladding / laser spraying
Coating can be applied either before or after welding-in the nozzles – depending on your production workflow and component design.
Wide Range of Materials – Matched to Your Requirements
We process a broad selection of high-performance thermal-spray materials:
- Nickel-based alloys such as INCONEL™
- Our proprietary HS (high-performance protection) alloys
- FeCr alloys with excellent wear resistance
Intelligent Layer Design – Coatings with a System
- Due to the very low heat input during processing, no active cooling of the workpiece is required during coating.
- Our laser cladding is carried out on the fully fabricated sootblower tube. Quality issues caused by nickel pick-up in the weld pool – as can occur when welding directly with nickel-based filler – are thus eliminated.
- Sootblower tubes already held in stock can also be coated retrospectively.
- Depending on installation position and load profile, different coating materials can be selected for optimum performance.
- The process is particularly well suited for stainless steels, which tend to distort under conventional welding procedures.
- The very small dilution zone allows coating thicknesses from approx. 0.5 mm with minimal iron content in the coating.
What We Offer
